Air Force ROTC Detachment 400 is located on the Michigan Technological University campus in the Keweenaw Peninsula of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Cadets in the detachment hail from a variety of location such as Washington, Colorado, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Michigan.
Detachment 400 at Michigan Tech is one of the 19 original AFROTC detachments created in 1946.
We have produced over 500 officers since our formation, including 1 Major General, 1 Lt General and 3 Brigadier Generals.
Every year Det 400 gives 12 room and board scholarships to incoming freshmen.
We play intramural sports, conduct military training, participate in the Winter Carnival activities at Tech, and more.
We operate as a Cadet Wing consisting of two groups and have a completely cadet-run (and cadre supervised) training program.
