Wake up for PT - Its early but once you are used to it its not all that bad

On Monday and Wednesday we have morning PT (physical training). Attendance at PT is required on Monday and Thursday. More PT events are encouraged and it’s a good time to socialize with other cadets. Sometimes we play sports like soccer, basketball, and flicker ball, but most of the time we do a normal workout. This usually involves some running, push-ups, and sit-ups. The wing Athletics Officer gives us a good workout to start our day. There is usually plenty of time to get showered, eat some breakfast and get ready for class after PT, even if you have and 8 AM class.

A common tradition we have at Det 400 is eating breakfast together after PT in the Wads cafeteria. Mostly its just the people living on-campus that meet, but its still a good time to get together and socialize with your fellow cadets.
During the Day
A very important part about being a Cadet in the United States Air Force is also remembering that we are also students at Michigan Technological University. It is important that we go to classes and study for exams. You can not get commissioned as a 2nd Lt if you don't graduate. There are learning centers to help you with your class if you need help and the professors have office hours. Stay on top of things as to prevent having to cram for an exam. Prioritize. Every Tuesday from 1600 to 1800 we attend Lead Lab. Lead Lab is cadet run. It is were we as cadets learn the most. We participate in fun activities, learn to march, and discover what it means to be a leader.
During the Day
Some time during the week we attend our Air Force class, which is taught by one of the Cadre members. The Air Force classes are meant to be interesting and thought provoking. The Air Force classes are a good experience and can teach you a lot about the Air Force.
After Dark
Get some sleep. We all know its sounds really simple, but sometimes its hard to get enough sleep when you are busy with classes and student life. The trick is to get things done as soon as possible so you can get to bed earlier.
On The Week-ends
We have Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR) events for Cadets organized by our MWR Officer. We do things such as go hiking, play softball, paintball, etc. We also have flight meetings; where flights get together and learn from their POC flight commander. In AFROTC we do a lot a service projects. Those are usually also performed on weekends.
