2008 Michigan Tech Portage Lake Junior Tournament

Gary Steinhoff, a golfer from California who is spending the summer in Houghton won the PLGC Junior Tournament this past Sunday with a solid score of 80. Local golfers Dylan Peterson (82) and Alex Roy (83) came in second and third place respectfully. |
| In the 14 and under division, Dustin Dishaw from Crystal Falls won the tournament with an impressive score of 80. Dustin claimed the title by 6 shots over two Portage Lake golfers Hunter Rajala and Alan Toczydlowski. |

In the 12 and under division, the trophy was won by Connor Hannon on the first extra hole over Tanner Kearly, the 2006 Club Champion. Both golfers shot 46 on the front nine. Hannon won the play-off hole with a par. |
| The 12 and under girl’s division was won by Kenna Farrey with a score of 50. Kenna also won the 2007 Girl’s 12 and under Club Championship last August. She beat Mary Maroste, Noelle Polakowski and Leslie Hamar to win the title. |

The 10 and under division was won by Austin Mikesch with a score of 49. Mikesch recorded two birdies on his card for the day. Gunnar Stein was second with a score of 52 and Jack Fenton was third with a score of 53. |
