Dinner Buffets

The choices and opportunities for putting together an outstanding buffet at the Memorial Union are almost unlimited. We have listed our most popular buffets and their accompaniments for you below. Please feel free to discuss your particular choices or needs with your catering representative.
HOT DINNER BUFFETS (Minimum service is for fifty guests)

(Your Choice of Roast Sirloin, Prime Rib, or Beef Tenderloin, plus two more entrees)

ADDITIONS - Customize your own buffet:

Baked Lake Superior Lake Trout or Whitefish to any buffet

6 oz. Charbroiled Halibut Steak

4 oz. Bacon-wrapped Filet Mignon

Breaded Jumbo Shrimp to any buffet:

  • Unlimited Shrimp

  • (We will keep the buffet line supplied in "all-you-can-eat" shrimp. You will be billed the number of pounds consumed. There are approx. 16 shrimp per pound.)

  • Limited

  • (A server will portion 5 shrimp per person on the buffet line.)

    Each buffet includes your entrées, a salad selection, choice of three accompaniments, rolls and butter, fresh vegetable tray, sliced fresh fruit tray, cheesecake, (not included if a special celebration package is substituted) coffee, and punch or lemonade. Tea is available upon request.

    All dinners include tossed salad with dressing, potato or rice, vegetable, dinner rolls and butter, cheesecake and coffee. Tea is available upon request.
    You are welcome to choose the side dishes and salad dressing for your meal. Our catering representatives can let you know our current choices. A list of our standard accompaniments appears below. If you would like to leave the accompaniments to us, we would be happy to select items that compliment your entree choice.

    For sit-down served events, no more than two menu choices are recommended, and the exact number of each entree selction needs to be confirmed with your guaranteed final count. All meals will be billed at the highest plate price selected. Additional menu choices (more than two) may result in an increades price per person. When selecting multiple entrees, please help identify which guest has ordered each entree selection (we recommend place cards or some other type or some other type of identification).
    The minimum for a sit down served dinner is twenty-five people.  For groups less than twenty-five, please consult our catering representatives for alternatives.
    The Menus listed above are some standard menu ideas. If you have special needs, or would like us to suggest menu and service selections that do not appear on our standard menu, please feel free to discuss them with us and give us your suggestions. We enjoy the challenge of making your event special and unique.
