| The Memorial Union has a Michigan liquor license, which authorizes the purchase and dispensing of alcoholic beverages. All rules and regulations set forth by the Michigan Liquor Control Commission must be strictly adhered to. No one under the age of 21 shall consume alcohol on these premises, and we expect the cooperation and participation of all sponsors of alcohol events to help enforce the legal drinking age. Cash Bar |
| A cash bar is when drinks are ordered at the bar and paid for in cash by each individual guest. Should a cash bar be requested for a function, a minimum of $50.00 in sales per hour is required. Sponsors of a cash bar totaling less than $50.00 in sales per hour will be responsible for paying the difference between the actual amount of sales, and the number of hours times $50.00 per hour. Cash bar prices are as follows: |

Hosted: Open Bar |
| A hosted or open bar is when all drinks are paid for by the sponsor or host. There are no individual cash sales during the course of the event. The bill will be determined by the number of drinks served by our bartenders. The bar bill will be calculated using the following formula: |
- Per Regular Mixed Drink
- Per Juice Mixed Drink
- Per Brand-name Mixed Drink
- Per Cordials and Liqueurs
- Per Martinis and Manhattans
- Per Wine Cooler

Wine and Champagne |
| The Memorial Union has a standard assortment of house wines available for all bars and special events. An extensive wine list is also available for your review. Our Catering Department will be happy to suggest a house wine or to help you with a special selection to compliment your banquet or reception. |

Combination Bars |
| Combination bars can be run simultaneously or in succession, i.e., open bar before dinner, cash bar after dinner, or open beer, wine, and soda with cash liquor drinks. Nonalcoholic bars are also available. |

Reservations |
| Beverage service reservations should be made at the time of your initial reservation, or at least two weeks in advance to accommodate your special preferences and allow us time to schedule the appropriate bartending staff. An alcoholic
beverage service registration form and waiver must be signed by a host before the beverage service is provided. |
| Please consult with our staff for other requirements and explanations of liquor laws that are applicable in the state of Michigan. Please provide us with complete billing information if another party will be responsible for the bar bill. |
