Community Expectations
- Respect each other
- Be considerate while others are sleeping, studying, or relaxing.
- Don't infringe on other people's space and don't use their things without their permission.
- Take the time to get to know one another and be friendly.
- Listen to each other.
- Learn to appreciate your differences.
- Take responsibility for your visitor's behavior.
- Help to ensure the safety and security of this community
- Report all strangers who act suspiciously.
- Keep all screens in the windows.
- Lock doors when sleeping and out of the apartment.
- Watch for children while driving and do not leave objects around common areas that may cause harm.
- Report anything that could cause injury.
- All children must be properly supervised.
- Follow the 15 mile per hour speed limit and stop at all stop signs.
- Respect courtesy hours
- Sunday-Thursday will begin at 10PM and end at 9AM
- Friday-Saturday will begin at 11PM and end at 10AM
- Noise should be kept reasonable 24 hours a day. This includes the following:
- All doors should be closed to contain the sound.
- Any time the noise is bothering someone, they should confront it.
- The persons confronted about noise will respect those doing the confronting and quiet down.
- TVs, stereos, and voices shouldn't be heard by your neighbors during courtesy hours.
- Accept necessary noise (i.e. walking) as part of living in an apartment setting.
- Deal with conflicts/problems appropriately
- Talk to the person you are having a problem with first.
- Talk with your Community Assistant if you are unsure how to handle a situation or call Public Safety if it becomes necessary.
- Community issues will be brought to the Community Assistant's attention as they arise.
- No one should be harassed, threatened, or abused.
- Communicate with each other
- Talk to each other directly - don't gossip.
- Discuss thoughts, ideas, and issues.
- Get involved through the DHRC to facilitate better communication and enhance our community.
- Keep our community clean
- Pick up trash in common areas, stairwells, parking lots, and on lawns.
- Dispose of trash appropriately - do not leave in front of dumpsters.
