Apartment Life - Short-Term Apartments

The Michigan Tech Apartments offer two types of short term apartments to accomodate your temporary living needs; the basic suites and the deluxe suites.

Deluxe Suites

Located just steps away from the main campus, Daniell Heights/Michigan Tech Apartments offers well maintained, furnished, affordable, one- and two-bedroom suites for guests of MTU employees or residents of our apartments, and for participants, along with their families, of various programs sponsored by Michigan Technological University. These suites are just minutes away from the main campus and indoor recreational facilities, as well as cross country ski trails and the golf course.

  • Suites are beautifully decorated and priced to suit your pocket book.
  • Suites include everything you need, along with many special extras.
  • Suites are worry-free as maintenance service is provided.
  • All deluxe guest suites include the following amenitites:
    • Air conditioning
    • Alarm clock
    • All utilities (heat, water, electricity, free washer and dryer)
    • DSL access (inquire with Telcom for fees and conditions)
    • Each is furnished with a queen size bed and a double-size sofa bed; includes linens and towels
    • Free bus service to campus September to May, Monday through Friday,
      7:30 AM until 5:00 PM
    • A literature packet is provided that gives information on the area and various local attractions
    • Kitchen amenities (dishes, pots and pans, silverware, coffee pot, toaster and microwave)
    • Local phone service with an answering machine
    • Convenient parking is located near your deluxe suite
    • TV with cable service

Basic Suites

Daniell Heights offers one and two bedroom furnished apartments based on a weekly rental rate for participants of University sponsored programs and their families. Basic suites are available May 20 through August 7 and availability is based on a first-come, first-served application. Apartments are located just a short distance from both main campus and the Student Development Complex. The apartments are furnished with the "basics only". Items such as table lamps, blankets, towels, and cooking and eating utensils need to be brought with you. However, we can provide you with these items for a small fee. Please refer to the Short Term Basic Suite Application for prices. As with our regular apartments, we provide comfortable living at a reasonable cost, conveniently located in a caring community.

These rates are effective through December 31 of the current year, and there is a three night minimum stay required.
