Housing Facilities
Our Housing Facilities department is a big part of the Housing & Residential Life area. This provides us the opportunity to work closely with the staff and students that live and work in the halls and apartments.
Our primary responsibility is to provide custodial and maintenance services for the Michigan Tech apartments and residence halls.
We also assign parking locations and maintain parking lots for on-campus students, distribute all keys, maintain landscaping and shovel snow, rent refrigerators, maintain swipe card access points, coordinate on-campus living renovation and maintenance projects… and much more.
We strive to provide our residents and staff with a clean, safe, comfortable and well maintained environment. Repairs can be requested by any resident by submitting an online form.
Each hall has a professional Facilities Manager that leads the staff, which includes a full-time well trained crew, student Management Assistants (MAs) that live in the halls and assist with after-hours maintenance, and students that want to work part time to earn some extra cash.
