Elections were held this past Sunday. The current E-board would like to welcome and congratulate the MHA officers for 2008-2009:
President: Harold Solomon
VP: Erik Gulick
Treasurer: James Juip
Social Chair: Ben Coultes
The Secretary position will be voted on at this coming Sunday's meeting. Also, Patti Kirk will be the new advisor.

Living in McNair Hall next year?
Ready to take on a leadership position?
Interesting in improving life in McNair?
If yes, McNair Hall Association (MHA) Executive Board is just for you!
MHA is the governmental student organization who represents the students of McNair Hall. The Executive Board consists of the president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, and social chair. We are currently seeking student leaders for openings in all positions for the 2008-2009 academic year. No previous experience is necessary, but preferred. Job descriptions are included below.

You will be asked to attend an MHA meeting on March 30, give a short speech regarding why you fit the position, which will be followed by voting. At that time, you will find out whether or not you received the position.
GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE E-BOARD:
• All officers must be registered and enrolled at Michigan Tech University at the time of election and during the time that they hold office.
• All officers must be living in McNair Hall for the 2008-2009 academic year.
• All officers must have a minimum 2.0 GPA at the time of election and maintain the same throughout the term.
PRESIDENT
• Presides over all meetings
• Meets with the advisor weekly
• Attends IRHC meetings, tri-hall president meetings
VICE-PRESIDENT
• Assumes the responsibilities and duties of the President when necessary
• Maintains all equipment owned by MHA, including game tables and projector
• Responsible for reception desk supplies and checkout items
• Chairs the Lounge Committee, which repairs and purchases new items
SOCIAL CHAIR
• Facilitates the organization and execution of social events
• Keeps records of all social events, explaining all of the details of the preparation, event, and suggestions for future events
• Chairs the Social Committee, which plans all events for MHA
TREASURER
• In charge of keeping the financial records of the Council
• Keeps a record of all executive board appropriations
• Reconciles bank statements and the checking account
• Chairs the Website Committee, which updates the web page
SECRETARY
• Keeps a record of the minutes of all council meetings and Executive Board meetings
• Distributes copies of previous minutes at council meetings
• Takes attendance at council meetings
• Sends out reminder emails
• Chairs the Publicity Committee, which handles all MHA publicity

Our annual Date Auction will take place on March 29. We are currently looking for residents to "auction off."
